Shopify’s own use of information collected through our store is described in section 7. Under the privacy laws of some countries, that kind of processing for personalisation or advertising can be treated as “selling” or “sharing” personal information. Where those laws apply to you, you can use the Shopify Privacy Portal listed in section 7 to make requests about it.
7. Shopify
Our online store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information required to provide the store, checkout, payment, security and other ecommerce functionality. Information you submit through our store is shared with Shopify and may be processed by Shopify or its service providers outside Australia.
Our store also uses Shopify features that combine information about your interactions with our store with information from other Shopify merchants and Shopify’s own services. Shopify uses this combined information to improve its products, ad targeting and personalisation. Shopify states that it does not share our customers' information with other merchants. When Shopify uses personal information for these purposes, Shopify is responsible for that processing, including responding to requests to exercise your rights over it.
To learn more about how Shopify handles personal information and the rights you may have, see:
- Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy/app-users
- the Shopify Privacy Portal, where you can make certain requests directly to Shopify: https://privacy.shopify.com/en
8. Cookies and website technology
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including those set by Shopify, to:
- operate the website and checkout
- remember preferences
- maintain shopping-cart functionality
- understand how customers use the store
- improve performance
- support analytics and marketing features where enabled
Shopify collects information about how visitors use our store, which it uses to provide store analytics and for the purposes described in section 7.
We may advertise Z’Spice on Google, for example in Google Search and Google Shopping. To understand whether our ads work, we may use the Google tag, connected through Shopify’s Google & YouTube app. When you visit our website after clicking or viewing one of our ads, Google may use cookies and similar technologies to record that visit and whether you made a purchase. If Google’s enhanced conversions feature is turned on, a securely hashed (scrambled) version of the email address or phone number you give at checkout may be shared with Google so it can match a purchase to an ad. We use this information to measure and improve our advertising.
Google’s use of this information is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can read how Google uses information from websites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can control the ads you see at myadcenter.google.com or by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser.
Apart from Google, we have not added any other third-party advertising or analytics tracking pixels to our store. If we introduce other tracking technologies, we will review and update this policy and any applicable privacy controls.
Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies, although doing so may affect some website functionality.
9. Reviews
Z’Spice uses Judge.me to collect, verify, moderate and display customer reviews on our website.
After you receive an order, we may email you (through Judge.me) to ask you to review the products you bought. If you leave a review, the information you choose to submit, such as your name, rating, comments and any photos, may be displayed publicly on our website.
Judge.me processes this information on our behalf. You can read how Judge.me handles personal information at judge.me/privacy. If you would like a review removed, or do not want to receive review requests, please contact us.
We will update this policy if our review setup materially changes how customer information is handled.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information.
Our ecommerce and customer-account infrastructure is primarily provided through Shopify and authorised service providers.
No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

- fulfil orders
- maintain customer accounts
- provide customer service
- meet taxation, accounting and legal requirements
- resolve disputes
- prevent fraud
- maintain appropriate business records
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and our legal obligations.
12. Access, correction and a copy of your information
You may contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
Where applicable law gives you this right, you may also ask for a copy of your personal information in a commonly used format, or ask us to transfer it to another organisation.
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
13. Deletion requests
You may request deletion of personal information where applicable.
Some information may need to be retained where required for legal, taxation, accounting, fraud-prevention or transaction-record purposes.
14. Overseas processing
Some of our service providers, including Shopify, Google and other technology providers, may process or store information outside Australia.
Where applicable, we take reasonable steps to work with reputable providers that maintain appropriate privacy and security practices.
Shopify describes the safeguards it uses for international transfers, including transfers from the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, in its own privacy policy.

If you have a concern about how Z’Spice has handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can investigate and respond.
Where applicable, you may also have rights to raise a privacy complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our business, website, technology or legal obligations change.
The latest version will be published on our website with an updated revision date.
